As of May 12, the claims process for Apple's proposed Siri settlement over delayed Apple Intelligence features has not opened yet. Here's what you need to know about the process, what to watch out for, and how to check eligibility.
Court filings in Landsheft v. Apple Inc. lay out who may qualify, which iPhone models are covered, what information users may need, and when an official claims process could begin. The proposed settlement covers certain U.S. buyers of iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 models who purchased eligible devices between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025.
The settlement proposes a $25 payment per eligible device, though the final amount may rise or fall based on the number of approved claims. Payments are capped at $95 per device.
Wait for Apple's official Siri settlement claims process
Eligible iPhone owners can't file a claim yet. The proposed settlement still needs preliminary court approval before an official settlement website and claim form become available.
The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California is scheduled to consider preliminary approval on June 17, 2026. If the court grants approval, the settlement administrator can begin sending notices and opening the claims process.
Avoid unofficial websites, social media posts, or search ads that claim to offer immediate Siri settlement payments — all of which we have already seen. Court filings say the official settlement website will include claim forms, payment instructions, frequently asked questions, and information on how to object or opt out.
The proposed claims administrator is Verita Global.
How to check if your iPhone qualifies for Apple's Siri settlement
The proposed settlement applies to U.S. residents who bought an eligible iPhone in the United States for personal or business use rather than resale. The purchase must have happened between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025.
Eligible devices listed in the proposed settlement include seven iPhone models.
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 16
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16e
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
Users can check their iPhone model under Settings, General, About. That same screen also shows the device serial number, which may be useful later if claims open.
What other information you need when the filing process opens
Court filings indicate users may need identifying information to verify an eligible claim. The proposed claim form asks for device and account information tied to the purchase.
- iPhone serial number
- Apple Account email address
- Phone number associated with the iPhone
- Purchase records, receipt, invoice, or original packaging if available
Users can find the serial number under Settings, General, About. The proposed claim form also says users can check the barcode on the device's original packaging or refer to the original receipt or invoice.
Anyone who bought more than one eligible device may need to submit information for each device. Court filings indicate users are limited to one cash payment per eligible device.
How long Apple's Siri settlement payouts could take
Even if the court grants preliminary approval in June 2026, payments will not arrive immediately. The settlement still has to move through notice periods, claim deadlines, possible objections, final approval, and any appeals before money can be distributed.
Court filings say valid claimants would receive a presumptive $25 payment per eligible device. The amount can decrease if approved claims exceed the available net settlement amount, or increase on a pro rata basis up to $95 per eligible device if fewer valid claims are submitted.
The safest step now is to confirm whether your iPhone model and purchase date qualifies, preserve any purchase records you still have, and wait for the official settlement website before submitting personal information.
Again, we cannot stress this enough. Do not give your information to sites claiming to offer instant or faster payments. They will steal your information, and use it to qualify themselves when the process opens, leaving you in the lurch.
